A special envelope produced with gussets enabling it to expand and accommodate bulky mail. FLAPS EXTENDED Envelopes with the seal flap extended (not f9lded down). FLEXOGRAPHIC (Flexo) Water or alcohol based fast drying printing process used "in-line" while envelope is folding. FLUSH CUT To cut flush means to cut the top flap off the envelope. F.O.B. Freight on board referring to freight terms. Is project figured FOB destination (supplier does shipping) or FOB our dock (customer picks up order or arranges freight movement). "FULL VIEW" WINDOW ENVELOPES Envelopes in which window extends over a large part of the face of the envelope. INDICIA A postal permit pre-printed on the upper right hand corner of the envelope showing that a fee has been paid to obtain special mailing privileges. INSIDE OR SECURITY TINT Patterns or solids printed on the inside of envelope to increase opacity. Can be a generic design or custom design. LAYOUT The designated position of an envelope in outline on a specified sheet of paper to show image location. LITHOGRAPHIC (Litho) Higher quality, more expensive printing process more suitable for halftones, screens, and heavy coverage projects. McINTYRE CORNERS / FISH TAIL Predominantly found in booklet style envelopes. These notches are made at the top of the two side seam shoulders t6 facilitate automatic insertion. MONARCH ENVELOPE Same size as a #7-3/4 envelope (3-7/8 x 7-1/2) but with a longer, pointed flap similar to a Baronial flap. OVERRUN Due to machine speeds and/or set-up losses overruns and underruns are unavoidable on making orders. Percent over or under varies with size of order (Percentage is lower on high runs). POINT A unit of thickness equal to 1/1000 of an inch. PROXY (Duplex) Double pocket envelope often used for annual reports, proxy mailings, and tear sheet mailings. REGULAR Is an envelope without a window.
